The body and the breath are powerful tools that allow us to tune into the present moment, to see through the lens of conscious awareness and embrace life just as it is, moment by moment, in all its beauty.

In this gathering we will immerse into the fundamental aspects and principles of Mindfulness as Therapy for body and mind through both theory (psychoeducation) and practical applications. What are the benefits of Mindfulness for our physical and mental health ? What is the science behind it? How can we use Mindfulness in our everyday activities and our yoga practice? How does it help regulate emotions and increase psychological flexibility?

• Learn how Therapeutic Yoga and Mindfulness Therapies such as MBSR foster self-awareness and psychological flexibility while considering basic principles of brain plasticity.
• Reflect on the benefits of Mindfulness & Yoga on the nervous system and their role in stress reduction and emotional regulation.
• Explore strategies to integrate Mindfulness and Yoga principles into your daily life and activities in order to manage anxiety, improve positive self-image, and enhance personal and relational well-being.

The day will include

• Awakening Breathwork and Kriyas (combination of breathing techniques with movement)
• Lecture on the principles listed above and Q & A
• Morning fika & delicious homemade vegetarian lunch.
• Movement: a Slow & Strong Flow for integration
• Stillness: Yin & Meditation where we’ll hold space for planting seeds in body and mind, reflecting and integrating.
• Free time to take a walk in the beautiful, peaceful surroundings of Österlen.
• Reflection though journaling, partner exercises and sharing circle.

13.30-15.00: Brunch at the barn & Free time
15.30-17.00: From theory to practice: Slow Flow & Yin Yoga
17.00-17.30: MBSR Meditation and self-healing tools
17.30-18.00: Closing circle and journaling

About the facilitator

Katerina is a full-time yoga teacher (E-RYT 500) and a CBT-therapist who is dedicated in sharing her passion for Yoga, Mindfulness & Psychology with the world. She turned to yoga and meditation in order to heal emotional and physical wounds and through her long experience of studying and practicing different forms of yoga for over two decades became committed to holding space for others to find their own, innate inner peace. She holds a degree in Psychology and a certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and has studied Yoga and Mindfulness in depth. Her studies in yoga include Vinyasa Flow, Multi-Style Yoga, Advanced Yin, Aerial, & Yoga Alignment courses as well as a training in Yoga Nidra.

Her studies in Mindfulness include courses such as MBSR and MBCT as well as Western Buddhism, all of which continually shape and inform her presence as a teacher and a student. Katerina teaches Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative & Nidra classes across several studios and companies as well as in 1:1 personalised holistic sessions. She has developed a unique style of teaching by blending Yoga, Mindfulness and Psychology and embedding them in an empathetic, intuitive and healing approach. Expect to be inspired to explore and to take meaningful, self-healing tools into your life off the mat.
