Enjoy yoga massage
Ayurvedic Yoga Massage is a holistic bodywork that unfolds on a comfortable floor mattress during sessions lasting 60 to 90 minutes. What sets AYM apart is its incorporation of assisted stretches, often called “passive yoga.” These gentle yet effective stretches are customised to your needs, ensuring a profound sense of openness and physical, psychological, and emotional well-being.Unlike traditional Ayurvedic massages, AYM uses only a minimal amount of oil. During the massage, you’ll experience Calamus root powder’s stimulating and detoxifying application with slow, deep strokes using the hands and feet. This exquisite blend of techniques results in a unique experience that makes you feel rejuvenated and balanced… .
The yoga massages on offer are all for the full body, just different duration of the sessions. And of course tailored to your individual needs.

The origins of AYM
Ayurvedic Yoga Massage (AYM) originated in the early 1980s when Master Kusum Modak, at this time a dedicated pupil, embarked on her transformative yoga journey in Pune, India. During this pivotal period, she was deeply influenced by her two revered mentors who would shape the future of her holistic bodywork:
BKS Iyengar: A Yoga Luminary
Based in Pune, BKS Iyengar, widely acclaimed as a luminary in the field of Hatha yoga, shared his profound knowledge of yoga with a focus on precise alignments and pranayama techniques. His teachings immensely impacted Kusum Modak’s approach to bodywork, and formed a solid foundation for the development of the AYM method.
Vasudev Limaye: A Legacy of Healing
Vasudev Limaye, a local massage therapist, became Kusum Modak’s invaluable therapist mentor and the cornerstone of her AYM journey. Vasudev’s teachings, hailing from a family with a deep tradition of practising traditional Ayurvedic massage therapy, enriched Kusum’s evolving massage practice parallel to her yoga journey. This harmonious blend of yoga and massage traditions laid the groundwork for the unique synthesis of AYM.
The birth of AYM
Inspired by her experiences and guided by the wisdom of BKS Iyengar in yoga and Vasudev Limaye in massage therapy, Kusum Modak ingeniously crafted Ayurvedic Yoga Massage. The AYM method integrated the healing power of massage with the benefits of yoga-based stretching and yoga alignment. For 35 years, Kusum Modak tirelessly refined and generously shared the AYM method with individuals worldwide, leaving an indelible mark on holistic well-being.
Today, AYM continues to flourish, thanks to its visionary creator, Kusum Modak and a few dedicated teachers of her lineage, among Ananta Sylvain Girard, who have carried forward the legacy of profound healing and transformation.
